Welcome our sweet, shy girl Trudy. We got a message that a breeder in Lancaster was looking to “discard” of a pup that has issues walking. Well we took the call got in the car and drove to get Trudy. We found her nestled up sleeping with a bunch of cows and she ran right over to us. It is clear that her hips are very painful. Off to the vet we went where full body X-rays were taken. It’s clear that Trudy has severe hip dysplasia. This is all due to poor breeding and genetics. We have already met with an orthopedic surgeon and will be figuring out a course of action in the next few weeks or so. Since Trudy is a large breed and growing at such a fast rate, surgery is likely not in her future as of right now, but may be as she starts growing. At this time we are no accepting applications for her until we can come up with a game plan for her course of care.
