At just four months old, Peggy has already endured more than most dogs do in a lifetime. Born into a situation where neglect was disguised as rescue, Peggy was left outdoors with a serious wound on her front leg that was ignored and allowed to worsen. By the time a kind-hearted stranger stepped in to save her, her leg was severely infected and covered in painful, open wounds. She was rushed to a veterinary hospital, where the only option left was to amputate the damaged leg.
But if you think losing a leg has slowed Peggy down — think again.
Now safely in our care up north, Peggy is showing us every single day what resilience looks like. She may only have three legs, but her heart is full, her spirit is unbreakable, and her tail? Always wagging. She’s a total sweetheart who adores people and gets along well with other dogs. She hasn’t been tested with cats just yet, but she’s young and adaptable. She would do well in a loving home with children, especially those who can be gentle and kind — just like Peggy deserves.
Peggy is fully vetted, healed, and ready to write her next chapter — one filled with compassion, safety, and all the love she was denied early on. We promised her that the rest of her life would be the best of her life. Now we’re looking for the family who will help us keep that promise.
Are you ready to be Peggy’s happy ending?
