Linus is a sweet, sensitive boy whose past was anything but easy. He came to us from South Carolina after being found living on a chain in very poor condition, incredibly ill and in desperate need of help. Thanks to immediate veterinary care and a safe foster home, Linus has made tremendous physical progress—but emotionally, he is still learning what it means to feel safe.
Because of his history, Linus will require another confident, friendly dog in the home. Having a canine companion is essential for him and plays a huge role in helping build his confidence and sense of security. He looks to other dogs for reassurance and guidance and truly thrives when he has one by his side.
Linus is timid and shy, and for that reason we are recommending a home with children ages 10 and older, as he has done well with calm, respectful kids in this age range. He is fearful of cats, so a cat-free home is required for his comfort and success.
He can also be more hesitant around men, though with slow, patient, and proper introductions, he does warm up and begins to trust. Linus does best with a calm environment, predictable routines, and people who understand that trust is earned—not rushed.
This boy needs an experienced dog owner who understands decompression, trauma, and the importance of letting a dog move at their own pace. Good things for Linus will not happen overnight—and that’s okay. What he needs most is a dedicated adopter who will be gentle, kind, and consistent, showing him day by day that the world is no longer a scary place and that he is finally safe.
Linus has survived a very rough past. Now he deserves a future filled with patience, love, and quiet victories. For the right home, the reward will be immeasurable.
