Don’t let the name fool you—Elder is anything but old. This one-year-old, 65-pound yellow Labrador retriever is just getting started on the adventure of a lifetime, and he’s looking for a co-pilot with a good pair of sneakers and a love for the great outdoors.
Elder recently made his way to us from an overcrowded shelter in South Carolina, where he was passed over time and time again. Why? We have no idea—because this dog is the total package. He’s goofy, loyal, affectionate, and always up for whatever the day brings. Hiking trail? Let’s go. Jog around the neighborhood? He’s laced up. Couch snuggles after a long day? He’s your guy.
He’s completely potty trained, crate trained, and gets along famously with other dogs. He’s also fostered with chickens and hasn’t shown much interest in them, which gives us hope that with slow intros, he may do just fine with cats too. Elder thrives with structure and routine, and he’s picking up leash manners and training cues like a pro.
Elder is the kind of dog that brings joy to every room he enters and wins hearts without even trying. He’s ready for a forever home that will give him the love, activity, and purpose he’s been waiting for.
If you’re looking for a companion who’s equal parts playful, loving, and smart—Elder is ready to be your ride-or-die.
