Welcome Echo! She was found as a stray in Philadelphia and brought to the local shelter. When no one came for her she came with us. We aren’t sure what happened in Echo’s past, but we do think she was potentially attacked by another dog as she did come to us with bite marks on her body.
Echo is a sweet girl with everyone she meets. Because Echo is deaf, we do recommend that she go to a home with children over the age of 10 and older. She has been around Cats and done just fine with slow introductions. Echo is potty trained and crate trained. We do know that Echo is very hard of hearing and on the spectrum of being deaf. She can hear certain pitch’s of noise. She came to us very skittish and does get very nervous meeting new dogs(rightfully so due to her past) She also gets incredibly nervous going on walks and that is why we recommend a fenced in yard so she can relax in her own territory. She is working with a professional trainer to work through these issues and anxiety. We are looking for Echo to go to a home with no other dogs or a very dedicated dog owner that would do very slow introductions over a few weeks time. We are looking for adopters that are experienced with deaf dogs and have had one before. We also will be helping adopters with her training and connect adopters with Echo’s Trainer.
Echo is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, updated on all core vaccines and started on flea and tick and heartworm prevention .
