Meet Echo — a quiet soul with a resilient heart.
Echo was found wandering the streets of Philadelphia, alone and unsure, before being brought to the city shelter. No one came for her. But we did. When she arrived in our care, her body told a story her voice couldn’t — bite wounds and scars that hint at a traumatic past, likely at the teeth of another dog. And yet, despite everything, Echo remains gentle, affectionate, and deeply trusting of the people who show her love.
Echo is deaf — or very close to it — and while she may not hear the world the same way most dogs do, she feels it just as deeply. She watches, she senses, and she bonds hard with the humans who make her feel safe. Because of this, we’re looking for a calm, predictable home with children over the age of 10 where she can continue to thrive with patient and consistent communication.
She’s fully potty trained and crate trained. Since arriving, Echo has completed professional training and made incredible strides. Where she was once skittish and unsure, she now walks in public with her head held high — calm, confident, and proud — when beside someone she trusts. She has learned that the world isn’t so scary when you’ve got someone in your corner.
To help her transition smoothly into her forever home, her amazing trainers at Cultured Canine have generously offered free follow-up training sessions for her future adopters — ensuring Echo continues to feel supported and safe as she settles in.
Echo is spayed, microchipped, fecal tested, heartworm negative, dewormed, up-to-date on all core vaccines, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
If you’re ready to open your heart to a dog who’s overcome the odds and is still learning to love boldly — Echo is waiting.
