Welcome our newest addition Dexter! Dexter was found as a stray and brought to the local Philly shelter. When no one came looking for him, he came with us. Shortly after coming into our care, we noticed that Dexter was coughing and unable to keep food down. He was also throwing up plastic and worms. He was taken to the vet for supportive care of his URI and foreign material in his stomach.
Dexter has been discharged and settling into foster care. He is still recovering from his upper respiratory infection and able to keep food down at this time but we will be closely monitoring him wit xrays and ultrasound to see if the foreign material he eats passes. If it does not we will be removing them surgically. Once Dexter is more stable we will begin taking applications on him.
