Welcome our sweet balding little friend Baldwin. He was posted on a free pet page on Facebook and one of our volunteers jumped in and brought him to our attention. We went and picked him up ASAP.
As you can see Baldwin is losing all his hair. After his vet appointment it was confirmed that Baldwin has Demodex which is a mite that can infest the skin causing hair loss when a dog has a low immunity. This is pretty common in puppies, which Baldwin is. He is 8 months old, only 32 pounds and a pitbull/lab mix. He is fostered with other dogs. We were told he has lived with cats in his previous home and he has met older children and has done well. He has also been around our presidents one year old and did well but the screaming and crawling made him nervous so older children are recommended. Baldwin is potty trained and crate trained. He has been started on oral antibiotics and medicated baths. Stayed tuned for a major glow up!
Baldwin will be neutered, microchipped, updated on all core vaccines, dewormed, fecal tested, heartworm tested, and started on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
