Some dogs come into rescue looking for a second chance.
Carl and Anna are simply hoping they don’t lose the only family they’ve ever known.
For years, Carl has had Anna by his side. For 11 years, Anna has had Carl. They have shared every morning, every nap, every meal, every move, and every chapter of life together. They grew old together in a home where they were deeply loved… until the day their world changed forever.
When their owner passed away, everything they knew disappeared overnight.
Their home.
Their routine.
The person they loved most.
The only thing they had left… was each other.
Now they find themselves in rescue, surrounded by unfamiliar faces and unfamiliar places, trying to make sense of a loss they could never understand. Through all of the uncertainty, they still seek comfort in one another. When one gets up, the other follows. When one rests, the other settles in close. Their bond is quiet, beautiful, and impossible to miss.
We know what we’re asking is a lot.
Finding one adopter for a senior dog is difficult.
Finding one adopter willing to open their heart to two senior dogs is even harder.
But after losing everything, we simply cannot bear the thought of taking away the one constant they have left.
Carl is a 14-year-old Chihuahua mix who completely breaks every Chihuahua stereotype. He doesn’t have a spicy bone in his body. He is gentle, affectionate, and loves everyone he meets—both people and other dogs.
Anna is an 11-year-old Yellow Lab mix weighing just 43 pounds. She is just as sweet, incredibly social, and loves every person and dog she encounters. Her kind eyes tell a story of a life well lived and a heart that still has so much love to give.
Both Carl and Anna are fully house-trained, crate-trained, and trustworthy to be left loose in the home. They aren’t looking for adventure anymore. They aren’t looking for long hikes or endless games of fetch.
They’re looking for peace.
A soft bed.
A sunny window.
A family to love.
A place where they can spend whatever time they have left together, feeling safe again.
We know this is a long shot.
But we’ve learned that sometimes the most extraordinary people come forward for the dogs who need them the most.
