Mila’s heart is pure gold—just like her beautiful coat once was, before life wore her down. At only four years old, Mila has already lived through deep neglect. She was brought to the shelter as a “stray,” but it was later discovered that the person who claimed to find her was actually her owner.
She arrived emaciated, sick, and defeated—suffering from vomiting and diarrhea, with nothing left but her will to survive. Despite the pain she’s in, Mila is incredibly sweet. She leans into affection, seeks out comfort, and shows a softness that makes it clear all she’s ever wanted was love.
Right now, Mila is in the hospital fighting for her life. She’s receiving emergency care while we work to stabilize her and uncover what’s truly going on inside her frail body. She’s not ready for adoption yet—but she is surrounded by love, safety, and a rescue team that won’t give up on her.
Mila’s story is far from over. And when the time comes, we will make sure she only knows kindness and compassion from here on out.
