Welcome Toodles!! He was originally purchased as a Christmas present and returned after the families landlord found out. So off Toodles went to the local city shelter. We were given a call about Toodles and went to pick him right up!
So Let’s talk Facts about Toodles.
He’s cute, he’s fluffy, and waaaayyy to sassy for his littlish body which will soon be very big. After a DNA test we confirmed Toodles is 64% Akita and 13% Pitbull and 12% lab/golden. He will be well over 100 pounds full grown.
TOODLES MANNERISMS AND PERSONALITY ARE VERY STRONG JUST LIKE AN AKITA!
For those of you that are not sure what this means let me explain. Toodles is not a dog that’s going to chill on your couch all day or need a walk here and there. Toodles likes having a job and has been doing phenomenal with training. He needs a strong handler that will continue with his training because in all honesty he’s too smart for his own good and will test boundaries.
To describe Toodles with other dogs is very simple. He’s an in your face kinda bully. It doesn’t matter the size, breed, gender or age of the dog. He quite literally has no problems letting anyone know he likes to be the boss. If he is going to a home with another dog, it should be a female.
Young children for Toodles is a no. Is he aggressive with them no but he is a baby piranha and does go right for their face as that’s his face level. This has been improving with training. He does want to tackle my two-year-old and wrestle with him which my son actually enjoys (they both do actually)but I think most children do not, so older kids are best for Toodles.
Does your cat think they are dog? If so Toodles and your cat will totally get along. He loves to wrestle and put his kitty foster siblings head in his mouth. They are great friends. If your cat likes to be left alone and sleep all day, Toodles is probably not the best match for you.
Toodles has been getting a lot of interest from people that are looking for a golden retriever/lab puppy. I think that’s great! However, I want to be super clear if you think you’re getting a golden retriever personality you are far in left field with Toodles.
Is he smart…. Yes very maybe too smart for his own good. Will he try to correct you if you are doing something he doesn’t most likely. HOWEVER …Are we working with him on this? ABSOLUTELY! Toodles is in professional training with Canine Cowgirl Training company and making HUGE PROGRESS. Toodles will need an owner that is going to continue with the training we are putting into him. We are paying for 5 sessions to his adopters. He’s a good boy but want to be very blunt that Toodles is a whole vibe and it’s definitely not the aloof, people pleaser, submissive, lab/golden vibe.
